Joel Jung was appointed Vice President Finance for Celera in August 2006.
Over the last 11 years, Mr. Jung held several executive and senior positions with Chiron Corporation, a $1.9 billion industry leader in biopharmaceuticals, vaccines and blood testing, including most recently, Vice President and Treasurer. In this capacity, Mr. Jung was responsible for Chiron’s global treasury and risk management function, the corporate tax department, and the corporate finance analytical group. Chiron Corporation raised $900M in two convertible debt offerings under Mr. Jung’s leadership. Before that, he served as Vice President of Finance, Planning & Administration for Chiron’s blood testing business, which reported total revenues of $550 million last year. Prior to joining Chiron Corporation, he held management and financial positions with Varian Associates, Inc. and Bank of America.
Mr. Jung holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University and an M.B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley.
