Celera Genomics and Celera Diagnostics to Webcast Presentation at UBS Global Life Sciences Conference

ROCKVILLE, MD and ALAMEDA, CA - September 17, 2003

Celera Genomics Group (NYSE: CRA), an Applera Corporation business, and Celera Diagnostics, a joint venture of Celera Genomics and the third Applera business, Applied Biosystems Group (NYSE:ABI), will webcast a presentation at the annual UBS Global Life Sciences Conference on Wednesday, September 24, 2003. The webcast is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. EDT. Kathy Ordoñez, President of Celera Genomics and Celera Diagnostics, will discuss the therapeutic discovery and development programs of Celera Genomics and provide an update on molecular diagnostics discovery and development programs at Celera Diagnostics.

Interested parties may access the live webcast and replay by visiting either the Investors & Media section of the Celera Genomics web site at www.celera.com or the Investor Relations section of the Applied Biosystems web site at www.appliedbiosystems.com. It is suggested that participants access the webcast 15 minutes before the start of the live broadcast. The replay will be available through October 24, 2003.
