Celera Genomics Completes Sale of Investment
Rockville, MD - May 12, 2004
Celera Genomics Group (NYSE:CRA), an Applera Corporation business, announced today that it has completed the sale of its investment in Discovery Partners International, Inc., from which it expects to receive net proceeds of approximately $32 million. Celera Genomics sold 7,222,000 shares of Discovery Partners common stock in a public offering at a price to the public of $5.00 per share. Celera Genomics acquired these shares in connection with its purchase of Axys Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in November 2001.
