Celera Genomics and Celera Diagnostics to Webcast Presentation at UBS Global Life Sciences Conference

ROCKVILLE, MD and ALAMEDA, CA - September 21, 2005

Applera Corporation announced today that the Celera Genomics Group (NYSE:CRA) and Celera Diagnostics, a joint venture of Celera Genomics and Applera’s Applied Biosystems Group (NYSE:ABI), will webcast a presentation at the UBS Global Life Sciences Conference on Thursday, September 29, 2005. The presentation is scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m. ET. Kathy Ordoñez, President of Celera Genomics and Celera Diagnostics, will provide an overview of both businesses.
