Applied Biosystems Group and Celera Group Second Quarter Fiscal 2008 Financial Results and Conference Call Scheduled for January 24, 2008

NORWALK, CT - January 15, 2008

Applera Corporation announced today that it will issue fiscal 2008 second quarter financial results for its Applied Biosystems Group (NYSE:ABI) and Celera Group (NYSE:CRA) on Thursday, January 24, 2008. Results are scheduled for release before the opening of trading on the New York Stock Exchange.

Tony L. White, Chief Executive Officer, Dennis L. Winger, Chief Financial Officer, and senior managers from the Corporation’s businesses will lead a conference call the same day at 11:00 a.m. (ET) to discuss these results and other matters related to the businesses. The call will be formatted to focus on each of the Applera businesses separately. The Applied Biosystems Group portion of the call will start at 11:00 a.m. (ET). The Celera Group portion of the call will start at 11:45 a.m. (ET), or immediately following the end of the Applied Biosystems portion of the call, if later.

During each segment, the management team will make prepared remarks and answer questions from securities analysts and investment professionals.
